Calling Out to all Volunteers!

The year is going to be the biggest year yet for NFC! We are taking on many new projects and much more responsibility. The only way to accomplish all of our goals is with your help! Please consider taking the lead and become a crew leader or project coordinator for one of the many projects listed below. We will provide training and support for the skills involved in our events. Make the time to make a difference by participating as a voluteer on a project you care about and see how much your contribution really helps! Working together we will see great results! Volunteers are needed for monthly events, so come help out for a couple hours, meet new people, help the forest, and enjoys snacks and a meal on us.



Interpretive Program Manager

NFC Booth at Austin Hot SpringsThis position entails in engaging with the public in the history of our National Forest and conservation of our watersheds. This volunteer would help run our interpretive booths at NFC events. Duties include, training will be provided:

                • Handing out refreshments to the public
                • Collecting survey's
                • Safeguarding volunteer's vehicles


 





Bagby Trail Work (Trail #544)

Crew Leaders/Team Captains:
Volunteers are needed to help coordinate individual volunteers into teams. Training will be provided by the forest by the Forest Service and NFC.

Volunteers needed for monthly work days:
Help out for a couple hours, meet new people, help the forest, and enjoy snacks and maybe even a meal.

Trailwork Coordinator: Position filled.



River Cleanup & Restoration

Crew Leaders/Team Captains:
5-10 volunteers are needed to help coordinate our volunteers into teams. Training will be provided by SOLV and NFC. Work will involve oversight of either trash cleanup, invasive species removal, native species planting, education, and/or monitoring.



Historic Preservation & Restoration

Historic 1913 Bagby Guard Station:
Need help in all aspects and other historic buildings in the area. If you feel you have any skills, an interest and/or a willingness to help, please join us.



Also NFC Needs Your Help With

Interpretive Planning:
Help coordinate the development and implementation on Interpretive Services. If you like history and talking to people this position may be for you!

Preservation Planning:
Volunteers are needed to assess, write reports, and conduct historical research on buildings.
