NFC has partnered with the USDA Forest Service to restore the Bagby Guard Station.
In partnership with the USDA Forest Service, NFC has an agreement to restore the 1913 log cabin, known as the Bagby Guard Station, at Bagby Hot Springs. The best preserved of only six cabin/shed combination structures in the Northwest built before World War I, it was added to the Nation Register of Historic Places in 1999.
Northwest Forest Conservancy is replacing rotten components in-kind, building new windows, re-building the rear porch, replacing the missing interior walls, and replacing the period furnishings. It is hoped that the work will be complete and volunteers housed in the cabin for its 100th anniversary in 2013!
